Hi Rich!
You are on a roll tonight! The Moncton Symphony Orchestra did it! Be it this
discussion or the FEMA discussion or HD radio. I have been laughing all
night. Now I have to sit down and do voice tracks for a Classical format
(WorldSpace's Maestro Channel...beams to Europe, Africa, Middle East and
Asia) and try NOT to think of your replies? Wish me luck.
By the way, this is not part of this thread but when you spoke about this PD
friend of yours it reminds me of when I programmed (not long ago I might
add) the Classical station in Dallas, WRR. My music director is now the
program director for WorldSpace. He and I brought the station the highest
ratings it had ever seen in its 50+ years on the air. Were we appreciated?
NO! The GM quips: Where's the 3.5? I told him Dallas can't support a 3.5 in
Classical radio. The shares are just not there. I was right. Now they sit at
a 1.9. I DON'T GET IT. My best buddy in radio (not in radio anymore...has
his own production operation as do I) and I used to ask: What does it take?
Do you have to tube 10 stations to become known as a successful P.D.?
Shaking his head and heading for the Neumann.
