Rich, et al,
Looks like 2 grain-of-wheat lamps in blown plastic, and some sort of packaged tuner assembly. Saw no speaker, so must be hidden on the bottom. Noted specifications were definitely missing!!
But they will make a mint on it, I am sure.
I want one with an old blue glass 327 as a grid leak detector, and 24-A's in a TRF ahead of it, and a pair of 26's for the power amplifier! Of course, will have to have a solid-state inverter to get the proper voltages off 4 penlight cells, whose life will be very limited...but will look pretty all lit up!!
May take some doing to get good detection at VHF with a 327, but we can use some sort of slope detection and tune the wires in the tube for the VHF, and make it work...maybe?
What is distressing is how much they will make off a hyped piece of junk. And how little in comparison Radio Engineers make for keeping real complex equipment running well.
Didn't PT Barnum have a quote for this?
