Another reason for me to continue to avoid WD at all costs. That and the 
horror story of their (non) Tech Support.

When replacing that drive, I cannot recommend Maxtor highly enough. I've 
installed/built/used dozens of them since the mid 90's, and so far, only had two 
"go south" in all these years. Both were quickly replaced under warranty with 
no problems since.
