Just wanted to fly this by any of you learned gentlemen....
I have noticed my Kenwood HD rcvr (KTC-HR100TR), when first turned
on, will not lock to an AM HD signal. If I switch to FM, Lock to an
FM HD signal, then switch back to AM... it will Lock to the AM HD
stream and be happy. Almost like you have to teach the AM HD codec
what it is looking for. Anyone else using this RCVR and experiencing
this anomaly?
Mike,
I have the same unit (the -TR model) with the -728 front end and I
usually listen to WBBM-AM when I am driving around town, so I
frequently get into the truck and it's on AM and I have not
experienced this issue. The thing syncs up and hits the HD within a
few seconds.
That having been said, WBBM-AM's IBOC has been off the air for a
couple of weeks now. I will try this with WSCR today and report back.
I have a question for you...when I put my radio in, if I turned it up
beyond "11" or so on the volume display, the thing went into
overcurrent shutdown, which requires mashing the little recessed
reset button. The solution was replacing all of the stock factory
radios which I am told be a friend who is a Chevy dealer mechanic are
2 ohm speakers, with after market 4 ohm speakers. That completely
solved the problem. Did you have this happen?
