In the winter of 1961-62 I could get them in the daytime in the Texas panhandle with my SP-600-JX17 using the gas pipes for an antenna.  I veried WMAQ and WWL for daytime reception, and also logged KFI, WHAS and WCBS during the 1000-1200 hours, local time.
