[BC] DICK SAINTE

I'm happy (fortunate) to have worked with Dick at KFRC in 1968. I would run
the board for him on occasion. I don't remember the story exactly but I
recall he had some anxiety thing and the doctor gave him Thorozine. Talk
about Mr. Mellow that day. We had to prop him up in the booth but, like a
true pro, he did the "Bill Drake" thing with ease. He was a gentleman in the
true sense of the word. I told the group about the "Sunday Cavorts" (he
named them) where we would go to a beach cove, get drunk, eat a lot and hope
we made it outta the cove before the tide came in. One Sunday we didn't
quite make it. I was one of the last because one of the traffic gals was
sooooo drunk (think that was a good thing) she almost got swept away into
the Pacific. Couple of us grabbed her and she made it. A bit scratched up
from the rocks but alright. Dick will be missed. Those were fun days for me.
