[BC] End of radio???

I have always believed most things in society are evolutionary and often
follow the path of unintended consequences. This morning I turned on
K-ROCk to listen to Howard's last show. I dont usually listen to the
show, but today I switched off the Satellite radio feed, found the FM
button and actually found the station (it was not one of my pre-sets).

I quickly discovered that the whole show was live on Yahoo. Now my
experience with streaming goes back over 10 years to the days when one
could charge a few thousand dollars to hook up an ISDN codec. Over that
time, I have not been a big end user of streaming. I always thought is
was stupid to sit in front of a computer to watch or listen to something
when a radio or TV was more flexible. Also for a long time bandwidth was
as issue.

So this morning when I heard Howard mention Yahoo, I went to the site. I
should point out my internet enviroment had changed over the years, so
rather than being tethered to a computer, my wireless laptop was there
in the living room on a table in front of the TV. Once opn the yahoo
site, I discovered the feed was pre-delay and un-edited. I switched my
radio back to the Satellite input and turned it off. Yahoo did a better
job of delivering the goods.
