>That would be Paul Mauriat, who did many fine orchestrations for (and
toured with)
>Charles Aznavour- one of the heroes of the French Chanson movement
>(read: Edith Piaf). Love is Blue is what he is known for here. A beautiful
song
>that I too associate with great childhood memories.
Love Is Blue was originally released on the Philips label and was
recorded in December, 1967. It was actually Paul Mauriat and His
Orchestra as the artist. In French the title is L'Amour Est Bleu.
Love Is Blue is available on many CD's. All Time-Life releases such
as Look of Love and Love Songs have the right version as does Rhino's
Billboard Top Pop Hits 1968. Two Philips releases have a re-recording.
A part time music teacher in my eight grade class at St. Cecilia School
used Love Is Blue in his lessons. I suppose Brother Steven like the song?
