[BC] Oldies Stations

FWIW, one Oldies/Adult Standards station I've found whose playlist is the
total opposite of narrow is "Radio 227", from the Netherlands. Not only
does their music range from '40s Big Band to '90s Pop, it also includes
multiple languages! The music they play is predominantly English, but
they also play many songs in Dutch, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
Every time I listen to their webcast, most of the songs are ones I've
never heard before.

In fact I've been listening to Radio 227 on-and-off for months now, and I
don't think I've ever knowingly heard them repeat a song. They must have
tens of thousands of songs in their playlist, and I'd say about one-third
of it is dubbed from vinyl, so it undoubtedly includes lots of stuff that
has never even made it to CD.

That might sound like a trainwreck of a format, all over the road and then
some, but if you just sit back and let yourself enjoy the music, rather
than try to focus on the title, artist, album, year of release, and chart
position of every track they play, I think Radio 227 achieves their only
stated objective: to be an "Easy Listening" station for a predominantly
"40+" audience.

Give Radio 227 a try, if you dare -- their webcast is available in MP3,
RealAudio, and Windows Media Audio formats:
