Maybe I'm too much of a nit-pick, but I hate when radio announcers
pronounce the town of Watchung, NJ as "waht-CHUNG". Ask any local, and
they call it "WATCH-ung". (For example, you can ask Laura Prepon, star
of "That '70s Show" -- a Watchung native who was a high school classmate
of mine.)
And in some town in northwestern NJ, there's a street called Firth Street.
Surely I mean First Street, right? No. It's Firth Street. Evidently
"firth" is a real word, but it must make the residents of this street feel
retarded when they give out their address.
