There's also "Nerk," Ohio (or is that Ahia?) as evident by the Nerk T-shirts 
worn by the locals.

There was also mention of Illinois.  I worked with one pronouncer in my rock 
days who referred to two Midwestern states as Illy-noise and Mitch-again.
