Evil genius David Letterman has been slapped with a restraining order 
by a New Mexico woman who claims he has been tormenting her with 
coded messages sent through the television.

Colleen Nestler claims Letterman inflicted "mental cruelty" and 
caused "sleep deprivation" by secretly communicating that he wanted 
to marry her and put her on "Late Show" as his co-host.

Apparently Letterman got himself into this trouble by joking, "Marry 
me, Oprah" way back in 1993 - as Nestler regards "Oprah" as one of 
her code names.

How she found a state judge willing to sign the bizarre order is 
anyone's guess. Letterman's attorneys have asked that it be quashed.
