Yes, but the cable companies will all be converting HDTV to NTSC for their
basic customers. There are simply too many out there to lose that revenue
stream.

I forgot to add that if you only have analog service, you will never get HDTV.

The cable companies remodulate it from 8VSB to 256 QAM. You need  a cable
ready 
tuner with a cable card (you pay the cable company extra for that)    OR you 
just get their box.
