[BC] An HD Tuner for $110

I know that HDTV is not available in analog. That's a given. To be honest...
I just don't think it's worth the extra money. Everything we want to watch
is
already available to us via our standard 27" NTSC set. It has a great
picture.
We paid under $200 for it a couple years ago. I have yet to see an HD TV
that
has a price that even comes close. (Right now, the cost/benefit ratio is
negative, IMHO.) We've looked at them in Circuit City, and some of them are
impressive... and so are the price tags. I have also noticed significant
artifacting
on most programs, much like the effect of setting the compression too high
when saving photos in JPG. That would drive me nuts.
I guess we're not your "typical" TV watchers. Myself, I only watch about an
hour or two per week. That time only increases when there is something
special
I want to see. My wife watches more, but still not enough to lay down those
kind of bucks.

The one big advantage I do see with ATSC is Dolby 5.1 sound. When done
right you keep looking over your shoulder to see who just drove up the
driveway.
When the TV broadcaster treats the video right (1080i),, wow!!! Just like
looking through a picture window but if all they will feed you is 720p and
compressed heavy it looks like JPG city.
When I got mine home and hung it on the wall and played with for most of the
day, it looked great well worth the money..
