The new TV Guide is absolutely worthless.  If I want to read "People" or "Soap Opera
Digest", I'd go out and buy "People" or "Soap Opera Digest".  I miss the journalism
that TV Guide once did--it was about the only place where someone could find 
insightful writing about the industry, written in a way that would appeal to an
intelligent viewer (someone outside the industry).  In fact, the writing was so
good that one of my college professors strongly encouraged us to use TV Guide
as a primary source for our term papers.

Now, forget it.  It's written by 20-somethings for other 20-somethings who think
that MTV is quality television.  Throw in the loss of local listings, and there's
nothing in TV Guide that's worth the price.  Most Sunday newspaper TV sections
do better. The only reason we're still getting it is because my mother-in-law gives 
us a gift subscription every Christmas...
