They were variable with a pot behind the front panel from IIRC 
about 2 to 10 sec. however, it was a single RC time constant and
easily changed. <g>  The problem was with the attack circuit.
If you made that too fast, it would produce and artifact on every
plosive sound. :-(  It was a compressor, not a limiter, but it 
was capable of quite a bit more than "out of the box" performance.
I tweaked a few of them when that's all there was. It was a very
reliable gadget.
