[BC] Religious radio

We have used third-party radio research organizations who work with both mainstream and Christian programmers. I have close contact with several of the major Christian AC networks and I can attest that they all use independent, third-party researchers for their data as well. As do the major ministry organizations that are headquartered here in C. Springs (Focus on the Family, Compassion Intl, The Navigators, HCJB World Radio, etc.) Contrary to popular belief, some of us who work in ministry are actually interested in what people really think and learning about them.

One HUGE thing to clarify is that Falwell, Hinn, and those like them are NOT examples I want to be compared to when we discuss religious programming. They do things on their own terms, and shed a horrible light on the rest of us.

There is a shift taking place in the new generation of religious programming today. For too long, religious radio has been second rate. There is no excuse, with the resources and talent that are available, to offer programming that is anything other than excellent.

What research? Has the research been done by objective third parties
or by companies with a vested interest in the result? I'm aware of
many religious "research" projects in the past where people like
Fallwell and his ilk needed data to "prove" some danger that enhanced
fundraising. I seem to recall one where gay people were "proved" to
be recruiting. It's a huge moneymaker religious scammers. Paul
Cameron is the poster child of discredited research still used.

I guess I'm skeptical when someone tells me 12th century thought
processes appeal to "soccer moms."
