Gasp is right!

The last time I saw Robert was in 1997. I rode to the airport with him after
a seminar dealing with Carnegie Hall. (they wanted input from Classical
music broadcasters from around the nation) I wish I could have seen that
interview. I was talking to my PD at WorldSpace and he told me about this
crazy sale/freq swap. Well you talk about Classical music going to satellite
and the like. Guess what I'm doing now? Tracking for the Classical channel:
Maestro. However, we serve Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia with 2
satellites and 6 spot beams. I really think XM and Siruis could do a better
job. That's another story.

I've been in Classical music radio on and off since I was a teen. I've seen
them (Classical stations) go dark and it saddens me. I have my own opinion
as to why this has been going on over the last several years. (Dumbing Down
of America and lack/elimination of good music programs in schools but that's
as political as I'll get in this forum). Fortunately, only one went down
when was I under its employ. KYTE in Portland. Now it has no Classical
station as do so many other cities.

Hey, Robert deserves the break. He's a fine Classical music broadcaster and
he's worked hard over the years and now he has a few bucks to play with. :)
I'm happy for him. Others will have to get REAL high gain antennas.

Steve
