Alan, as a long time buyer on Ebay, I find it amazing what some
people are selling for what, and what some people are willing to pay. I
have bought several pieces of test gear for very good prices. We have 3
modulars offices next to our building, and I bought 50 meter fiber
cables, media boxes etc to connect them up for around $ 800 or so. Local
bids to fiber up and install were around $ 5,000. My boss is very happy
with that.
What is amazing is what some people will pay for the tube type
equipment. And unbuilt Heathkits. Remember the SB-104? The solid state
replacement for the SB-101a, and it was and is junk. $ 100 at any
hamfest. A few months ago one went for $ 1600+ on Ebay, because it was
UNBUILT! (Hint, if you want a ham kit, build the Elecraft K2, I have two
of them, great radios) .
My step daughter will go to Walmart or other places and find girls
purses with a certain breed of dog on it, and then posts it properly on
Ebay. Buys for $ 2.50, and they sell for $ 25.00, because people with a
particular breed of dog will pay anything for it. Amazing.

p.s., I just starting selling off some stuff laying around. Hint, never
ship out two repeaters on the same day, one might send the right one to
the wrong address!
