Try to explain to a manager. . . 

The little dummy loads on the antenna monitor that are heating 
up when the station is on-the-air are absorbing power from the 
transmitter, and these little losses are a part of why directional 
stations get to "date the common point resistance" to make 
up for losing in the phasing and branching (and monitoring) 
system.

The heat in those loads has to come from Somewhere. . .
