  On the other hand, if we should ever begin to see a sizeable change in
the length of a day, the natural "cure" for this would be to ask
everyone to always travel from east to west for a period of time. (All
of those vehicles running in an westerly direction should produce an
equal but opposite reaction and actually speed-up the planetary
rotation, again!)

  This should also make for more better excuses on why we're late to
work in the morning! ("I'm sorry but, the ferry across the Pacific was a
bit slow, this morning while they ferry across the Atlantic was right on
time.")

  The only other "cure" I can think of would be a strict physical
exercise program involving lots of toe touching (while facing east) and
the consumption of copious amounts of bean-based meals... (Powell Way
should have a suggestion or two on this matter.)

  And, just to keep it all on topic, we could coordinate all of these
efforts via IBOC receivers with EAS decoders built in until individual
city governments decide to "overthrow" the local radio stations!
