You're vehemently critical of Howard Stern. How many of his shows have you
actually heard? If you're basing your judgement on religious leaders
opinions I wonder how many of his shows they've heard.
You've neglected to add religious fanatics to the list of people who'd be
surprised by his questions. They'd be shocked because they, most likely,
have never heard his show. The Catholic Church is notorious for opposing
movies. When you ask if anyone in power had seen it, the answer was no.
That doesn't strike me as educated or reasoned opinions.
