The few remaining where I live (San Fernando Valley)
mostly sell stuff related to car stereo/car alarm/car
bling-bling installation; resistors and capacitors
play second fiddle....

On the other hand, All Electronics (on Kester in Van
Nuys) still seems to have a good selection of
components.

Fry's Electronics has an aisle of components....
