[BC] Pirates...Aaarghh!

I have a newspaper article from the Traverse City Record Eagle quoting
the local district attorney as saying that a 2 meter ham rig is the same
as a police scanner in that public service frequencies may be monitored
with the rig. And that he will prosecute to the fullest extent of the
law. They will confiscate the rig and write the owner a ticket. What if
your rig is in the trunk packed in a suitcase? Well, if your car has
what appears to be an antenna for a 2 way, police will stop you and
insist they have probable cause to search your vehicle. If they find the
rig packed away, you still lose it.
I no longer vacation in the Traverse City area, but do frequent the
South Haven area. It's less of a drive. And any rigs still stays home.
