[BC] RE: Gas Prices

The advantage of hybrids is in city traffic, where the electric engine
does most of the work, especially at low speeds moving from one traffic
bottelneck to another. From the reviews I've seen, road milage for most
hybrids is not that much better than comparable gasoline models.

For someone like me, with the studio 56 miles away, & one transmitter 90
miles away--all road miles, gas would have to go up to around $5.00 a
gallon to make it worthwhile to dump my '02 Taurus 6-cylinder (avg. 29
mpg) for a hybrid.
However, if I lived in Bos~Wash I'd be averaging around 20 mpg in the
constant traffic.

Now, if you don't like the Civic hybrid, wait a bit. Honda has an Accord
hybrid coming out soon.

Current Accord is a bit "big feeling" to my taste, and the interior is kind
of plastic looking, but the back seat has more legroom than my Taurus &
has nice little interior touches. The hybrid Accord is supposed to have
the same upscale trim package. Here's the radio tie-in: it will probably
come with built-in XM, like the top-line gas models.
