[BC] 30D transmitter...

Hi Burt. No, no, I was talking about the sensitivity of the receiver with a
FET pre-amp. I could bring it up from around 45 miles out. Having the
receiver antenna at 125 feet helped. We had 2 (two) Cush Craft J-Pole
antennas stacked, and on a rotor. Measured 9 dB gain omni from Cushcraft.
At the bottom, on the 80D, was a 250 watt amp.into 2 eleven element beams.
If interference got bad, we rotated the beams until the signal peaked, kick
on the amp, and the interference found a new freq. Man that was fun
building. The guy who owned the repeater couldn't fit behind the rack, so I
made all the connections. We even built a home made phone patch from telco
equipment. I wired, must have been, 30 relays to operate the thing.
Knocked me out when it worked first time out. Oh yea, good to meet you at
NAB this year.
