thanks to all for the open wire reports; I had no idea so many sites still 
used them.

"High powered" shortwave station K5UJ still uses 600 ohm balanced 2 wire 
feed to its horizontal loop antenna.  :   )

WERC Birmingham still has two feeds,  230 Ohm 4-wire since the  '30's.
