[BC] Death of portable radio

Interestering point.

A few years ago I had a short discussion with Glynn Walden at the Radio
Show. We spoke about the problem with DRM on shortwave being the battery
life of the receivers.

He discussed how in some countries the poor villagers use nearly half their
money for a battery once a year to run their radios and with the digital
radio receiver battery life would be cut to a week Vs. a year.

I never thought about the portables here.

Perhaps we could get a better feel for them if we could get a feel for how
long the micro sized MP3 players run on a battery.
