[BC] The essential minimum

Barry and I have been discussing what tools and equipment we would consider
the bare minimum for getting out of most engineering situations (in radio,
that is :)  but having experience in setting up heat-exchangers can come in
handy in places where alcohol is unavailable. . .)

Anyway, I am betting that most engineers have their 'must haves'.
Mine is probably highly skewed by having had so many times to run
proof-of-performance tests, however most of that stuff is so expensive that
it's hired as required or possessed by the I&C House or TX Company Crew.
But I thought, well, what do I have as personal kit? That's probably a
pretty good indicator of what I consider essential.
So I found:

Fluke DMM with RF probe and temp probe and clamp-on ammeter.
Hitachi 100MHz DB scope.
Racal 1 GHz counter.
Comark 2KV insulation tester.
Distortion factor meter.
Modulation / Deviation meter (I guess this will be so much junk RSN :(
Wayne-Kerr B601 RF bridge
Ancient domestic 5-tube radio used as bridge detector (!)
- I usually use the transmitter exciter as a bridge source so I don't have
an RF source.
