[BC] White House Just Evacuated

The panic over the improper incursion of the small aircraft into
restricted airspace was perhaps excessive, but a lot less than what would
have happened if it had been full of 200 lbs of explosives and hit the
Supreme Court or other major government building. At least we now know that
the warnings systems work to get people out, just like the old school fire
drills. I'll bet most of those people could not be bothered before to
actually do a drill on the evacuation, so now they've had to do it.
For what it's worth, when the president last visited Las Vegas
during the pre-election frenzy, the airspace around the Macarron airport
was, as usual, closed to all traffic during Air Force one's approach and
departure. Despite that, 4 separate aircraft entered that air space, all
private aircraft flown by commercial and private pilots. They were rapidly
intercepted by USAF and Navy Jets, escorted to the Jean airport south of
town, required to land and cited by the FAA. It usually costs them a months
suspension of their piloting privileges. One of them was a student pilot in
a Cessna 150. Try to imagine his reaction to an F16 with everything hanging
out to slow down, flying past and waving him away! His license was not
suspended, but his instructor's was.
