I don't know about you, but I have always listened to skywave at night
while driving, and it has become more important to me in the last 20 years
since I moved several hundred miles, from the Boston area to western
Virginia. Skywave lets me stay in touch with what is happening in
Massachusetts, thanks to WBZ. I also listen to Boston sports on skywave,
but seldom from a Boston station when driving. Instead I listen to coverage
from the network of the team they are playing. During the Celtics-Pacers
series I was listening to the games on WIBC, and I can catch many Red Sox
games at night by listening to WCBS when they play the Yankees, WMPV when
they play the White Sox, and so on.
I have better reception at home than when driving, and so can listen the
Red Sox network at home, usually on WTIC.
I've been listening to skywave for 35 years, and certainly would miss it.
