The PIC (Pilot In Command) bears the ultimate responsibility for
all aspects of the flight. If a flight is VFR to/from uncontrolled
airports and does not enter Class B, C or D airspace no radio
communication is required. A malfunctioning radio is not a valid
excuse for entering prohibited or restricted airspace which is clearly
shown on sectional charts. Common sense should prevail especially
when in a sensitive area with prominent landmarks visible from
a considerable distance.
Regardless of the physical size/weight of an aircraft, it may be used
as a deadly weapon as can may simple objects. Possession of a weapon
and proficiency in its use are two different things in most cases.
