Not if you are talking STRICTLY about the RF envelope.

Usually that's the problem, but I think that's a matter of how you get there. 
If the FCC hadn't put a limit on it I suspect we'd be doing it. I am not a DSP 
expert, but I'd think there should be a possibility for doing it that way. In 
analog it's difficult because the nonlinear break can't be sharp enough.

SSB works if the carrier reinjection is carefully controlled.
