The 5T  was still at 990 in Providence when I was there in the late  80's.  
Still  sounded good even throttled back to 500 watts when 990  finally went  
fulltime. And  speaking of  supermdulataion, I know  Dana may remember this one: 
the BC-5H at WBSM-1420 in New Bedford MA. Once  we  got that box straightened 
out it screamed at night. 2500  watts of  audio on 1 kW of carrier...
