We had a 2.5K a dozen years ago before a power upgrade, and now, with an  
added station, a 2.5H3

The K would get about 9 months with the "A" series tubes, we had a "B" in  
it when we sold the transmitter which had maybe a year and a half without  
trouble. Believe that transmitter is out in Indiana now. Town by the name  
of Royal something or other.

The H, I believe, has a "B" in it, and has been running for about 3 years,  
albeit at 1300 watts.  We've got a CP to up power, and it's been running  
about 2 months now at that new power of 2,450 watts and without the IPA.  
We're using a Continental 802A to drive the tube directly, isolated with a  
1/4 wave shorting stub to protect the exciter.  Will be interesting to see  
what kind of life we get. I probably should get a new spare in house ;-)
