That's amazing; I had no idea.  What I have heard however sounded constant 
like electronics  produced noise.

And it discharges when you run over a sewer grate or railroad track cause
you can hear it in an AM radio

A lot of LF RFI is generated by tires and debris in tires.  Heavy truck
running gear and brakes creates electrical noise as well.
