KPO used the "500 foot Rule" for its installation near SFO, and KCBS also
used the 500 foot Rule, even thought KCBS is NOT a Class A, and it isn't,
per se, entitled to invoke it.
KGO's towers are 90 degrees, and 300 feet.
Had KGO used the 500 foot Rule, its towers would be a more respectable
148 degrees.
90 degrees for a Class A was a bad idea in 1947, and it is still a bad
idea.
Besides, those towers were so slightly constructed, they could not
survive the Loma Prieta Earthquake.
Didn't meet minimum conforming height, when built ... didn't meet
reasonable seismic standards, either. Especially as the Hayward Fault
was, likely, known to exist, then.
