Don't know if it's been mentioned here (if it has I apologize) but the May 
28th issue of Time magazine contains what could be considered an 
anti-satellite radio essay on the last page.
All about the surreal ness of having the exact same homogenous type radio no 
matter where you are in the country with no local news or regional 
characteristics.  Author reminisces about starry nights, and pulling in 
stations from far away, misses emergency weather news, and local accents as 
he drives across the country.
