I'll back that up. I have 2 of the same 800va Belkin units. While it
was OK for my load (cpu and LCD monitor) one day i accidentally
plugged a laser printer into the power strip the UPS feeds.
Conventional wisdom would tell you that you'd expect the unit to go
into protect mode because of the load that it knows it couldn't
support and after a reset all is well again. Not so. After plugging
the printer in the unit will no longer even turn on, pressing the
power switch gives me a flash of the yellow led on the panel and a
beep and nothing more. the unit is only about a year old, but i don't
think I'm going to even bother trying to get it serviced, the cost of
shipping it to/from Belkin is probably greater then what I could buy a
new unit for.
