It's not too late. Ultimately everyone is going to have to replace as many
as 8 radios in homes, cars and portables. Why not do it before billions of
people buy IBOC receivers (by next year to hear the groupies talk) and kill
two birds? Excuse me. Two bands. Try and do it on the same time frame as
the TV analog drop dead date. It appears the government is afraid they may
have to develop a program (I nominate Ron, our resident closet liberal, to
run it) to subsidize set top boxes for the DTV conversion if it's to be
done by 2008.
