Actually Dana, AT&T, along with MCI, still has quite a bit
of microwave still running.  AT&T still has some in TX, AR, 
NY, MD, among others, while MCI still has it running in 
NY, LA, MS, MD, PA, and others.

Some if it is awaiting replacement by fiber, some is required
by government contract for diversity.  






Alas, most are being screpped. I understand they are keeping a few for
replacement purposes, but for practical purposes, that entire micorwave
network has been turned off, replaced with fiber.
