Potomac Instruments' sign is on a two-story storefront-type building
in a non-elegant part of Silver Spring, MD. The ground-floor windows
are covered over. There are about 10 small auto repair shops, the
Greyhound depot, etc, within a block of PI.  I pass it each week on my
way to AMSAT headquarters, a block away.  The up-scaling of downtown
Silver Spring is still some distance away with Discovery
Communications' 2000 employees, NOAA hdqtrs., and a number of other
substantial investments.  AMSAT's rent is still 1/3-rd of what it
would be 6 block farther north.
