I have tried similar products, and they work,
sometimes.  More often on fan motors,
BUT, it is only a temporary fix.  The ones that
I have dealt with are basically nothing
more than a bigger cap.

Has anyone ever used or has knowledge of a product called Kickstart?  It is 
used to help motor get going and is a two wire device that goes across the 
motor start capacitor.  It is suppose to extend the life of compressor 
motors in airconditioning system.
