Sense???? You want this to make sense? Tom, quick, find that bottle of
meds you lost and take a double dose.

Seriously, there is no sense WRT the daytime interference within
protected coverage that two Detroit Infinity 50's are well know
to cause with their IBOC subcarriers.

These patterns were carved on computer to make 5 kW III's into 50 kW B's
with no apparent thought for the facts of pattern b/w in transmission
systems. They meet the allocation requirements with contour "kisses"
and the rules require no showing of adjacent protection for subcarrier
frequencies thus they apparently comply by making pattern limits at
Fc. This is only the beginning, and IMHO THIS is the real killer
problem within IBOC AM - much worse potentially than the night issue.

Kintronics presented a paper on pattern b/w at NAB last spring, and
indicated there was hope, but didn't go far in detailing the real
scope of that hope.
