Are you kidding? In a Republican administration us Independents would
likely get a necklace with a Taser. Cheney would design it. The CIA
would distribute it. The FBI would monitor our reactions with those
letters to my Librarian.

Why not? It worked once. Not to Phil's house but in my old
neighborhood near Boston.
I wonder if current phones have the capability to turn the phone on
via software if the firmware was updated. I know Verizon lets you
update your phone with a * code. I was forced to change to Cingular
because of a lack of signal in my area. I don't know if they have a
similar capability. If software could do it, the phone could turn on,
ring and deliver a message via its speakerphone.
Of course, with the Partiot Act the microphones would always be
active. I have a tiny analog radio that's about the width of my
phone. I think I'll Velcro the radio to the phone and leave it on a
Talk station so they'll think I'm a superpatriot. I figure I have a
couple of decades left where the analog radio will work.
