Has anyone had to deal with NTIA?
I set up a transmitter on 163.350 Mhz which is on a shared band (gvt/pvt)
Both the NTIA and the FCC have jurisdiction over this band of frequencies.
The NTIA specified my transmitter power levels in dBd (ref a dipole)
The data link to that site was specified by the FCC in power in watts which
I used dBm (ref mw).
Now the last transmitter I received was specified in dBc. (ref carrier
power) How do I convert to dBm?
What is the difference (I do know dBd is referenced to a dipole and Dbi is
referenced to an isotropic)
To sum it up, my main transmitter falls under the NTIA and my data link
463.50 Mhz falls under the FCC.
Why are different gov. agencies using different methods for measuring power?
