The water and downy works pretty well but be careful if you have any
plastic floor covers for chairs or anything like that as they will
become very slick and someone could slip and fall. Also after using the
solution for some time you will likely notice that heavy traffic areas
will show a dirt trail much more than before. Of course this can be
cleaned but unless you can spray during a time when no one will be
walking on it until it is dried it will pull the dirt off their shoes.
And finally there is a spray product designed for carpet that I bought a
couple times. I don't remember the name but I bought it from a local
cleaning supply house. It wasn't cheap but it lasted allot longer and
it didn't pull the dirt off the shoes near as bad. Keep in mind the
area I had to do was 4 active control rooms on one hallway and initially
they were all maned nearly 24/7 so lots of foot traffic. Your mileage
may vary of course.
