Rich:

What you suggest defies physics in many cases. Most arrays can not be nulled in 
a specific azimuth on multiple frequencies. This would require a whole new 
approach that obsoletes everything now in use, transmitter and IBOC exciters 
included. Even then there would be pattern problems somewhere.

I am afraid (and always have been) that the AM solution needs to be re-worked. I 
think I was among the first of now many who see that in something DRM like.
