My best information, is that the FBI doesn't have the resources.
( though I do sometimes enjoy that show )
It's something that would have to be contracted to someone else.
The military might. They do have entire departments dedicated to
reverse engineering things that are no more.
Those same folks are also responsible for engineering one-off items
 that will never be.

Amazing what one can learn by stumbling into the wrong place at the right time.

Hollyweed always manages to make process that would realisticly take months
happen in seconds, or perhaps minutes if something incredibly time consuming.
Obviously, there is no "magic wand" !

My understanding of DNA testing ( which is primarily hear-say ) is that DNA can
never confirm, but can easily deny, with todays technology.
Funny, how TV-DNA can confirm everything !
( except that you're human, and not a turtle )

I'm also getting tired of the guys on Numbers still using chalk boards.
My brother is the only mathematician I know of that uses non-video displays,
and is inclined to print a ream of paper, rather than read a screen.
Something to do with his dyslexia, I think...
Does anyone ( outside of elementary schools ) still use chalkboards ?
