There was a newspaper article some time ago (New York Times, I believe)
which confirmed this.  They said that the spate of TV programs using
highly advanced forensic tools were causing police and courts no end of
problems.  Apparently defendants and jurors just don't understand why
these things aren't real and can't be used in their cases.  Because the
Las Vegas Police Department, as shown on "CSI," has it, every little
Podunk with a police department of one must have it.
